1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored securely by Supabase).

Location data: When you search for or detect your location, we process geographic coordinates to fetch weather data. Saved locations are stored in your account.

Usage data: We log API requests (endpoint, timestamp, provider count) to monitor service performance. These logs may be associated with your user ID if you are signed in.

Payment information: Payment details are collected and processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: (a) provide and improve the Service; (b) authenticate your account; (c) process payments for premium subscriptions; (d) save your preferences and locations; (e) monitor and maintain service reliability.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with: (a) Supabase (authentication and database hosting); (b) Stripe (payment processing); (c) Third-party weather APIs (your approximate location coordinates are sent to fetch forecasts, but no personal identifying information is shared with weather providers).

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure with row-level security policies. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We use HTTPS for all data transmission.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser cookies for authentication session management and localStorage to cache your preferences (selected sources, temperature unit, saved locations) for offline access.

6. Your Rights

You may: (a) access and update your account information at any time; (b) delete your account and associated data; (c) export your saved locations and preferences; (d) opt out of non-essential data collection by using the Service without an account.

7. Data Retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. API usage logs are retained for up to 90 days. When you delete your account, your personal data is removed from our systems.

8. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the Service or by email.
